Loans

The Shakespeare Research Library is a reference library. The following conditions apply for loans:

• Loans are limited to users who have an active affiliation with LMU Munich (curent students and faculty members).
• Loans are only possible over the weekend, during the end-of-year break, and during the summer break. Weekend loans are limited to 5 books, loans during the break periods are limited to 10 books.

• Weekend loans start at 3.30pm on Fridays. Books have to be returned to the Library by 12 noon the following Monday.

Current summer loan regulations:

• The library will be closed for the summer break from Friday, 1 August 2025 to Sunday, 31 August 2025.
• Summer loans start on Monday, 28 July 2025.
• You may check out up to 10 books.
• All items need to be returned by 12 noon on Tuesday, 2 September 2025.
